Public Hearing Announced for February 25

The Connecticut General Assembly will be holding a public hearing on Thursday, February 25, 2010 for the recently introduced House Bill 5228, An Act Concerning The Sales Of Event Tickets On The Secondary Market.

The public hearing will start at 10:30am in Room 1C of the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.

This bill will benefit both brokers and consumers wanting to re-sell their tickets, so the BTA is asking for broker support.

1. BROKERS SHOULD ATTEND THIS HEARING AND ALSO HAVE CLIENTS ATTEND THE PUBLIC HEARING TO TALK ABOUT HOW THEY SUPPORT THE BILL AS CONSUMERS!

2. Any Connecticut ticket brokers who are willing to testify at the public hearing can contact Natalie by phone at (860) 870-3400 x337 or by email at natalie.carpenter@ticketnetwork.com to let the BTA know who plans to be there. The BTA is also offering to assist with or review testimony for brokers willing to speak at the public hearing.

3. Attend a Conference Call/Webinar on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 4pm to discuss a plan of action (more details will be emailed to all CT brokers).

4. Call your local legislator and express your support.
